Brendan and Kieran: The Father and Son Behind Brendan Irish Tours
Brendan Irish Tours is a small, family-run touring business based in Galway, in the west of Ireland. It’s run by Brendan Fahy and his son Kieran, and between them they do the lot. They answer your first email, plan the route, drive the car, and show you around the places you stop. There’s no call centre and no automatic booking in between. When you get in touch, you’re talking to the two people who’ll be with you for the trip.
Who You’ll be Travelling with
Brendan has spent most of his working life looking after people, first as a chef and then running a bar for the best part of forty years. That's where he learned to read a room and send people home happier than they arrived, and it's still how he runs a day out. He's a qualified driving instructor as well, so the driving is taken as seriously as the guiding, and later in life than most he went back to university in Galway and earned a Master's in applied entrepreneurship. He's not one for standing still.
Kieran, his son, trained as an accountant and holds two law degrees, which is where the careful, well-planned side of things comes from. But he's out on the road as much as Brendan these days, driving and guiding the trips himself, and after a few years of it he knows the routes and the stories as well as anyone. Between them, most of the trip has been thought through well before you arrive.
Qualified Guides, not Just Drivers
Brendan and Kieran are both Fáilte Ireland National Tour Guides, so whoever's guiding you already knows the history and the landscape you're passing through, and it isn't handed to a stranger. Both hold the commercial licences to drive the whole fleet, an SPSV licence for up to eight passengers and a D1 for up to sixteen. Every vehicle is fully commercially insured. None of that is box-ticking. It's the difference between a properly run operation and someone with a nice car, and it's why you can get in, sit back, and let the day happen.
TRAVEL IN COMFORT
The Fleet
Three vehicles, kept deliberately small. Keeping it to three vehicles means one of them drives your whole trip, start to finish, rather than a different driver each morning. That continuity is a big part of what guests come back for.

For couples and smaller parties, a comfortable premium car for two.
Mercedes V-Class
Roomy enough for four or five travelling with luggage.

For larger groups, with two facing tables.

Small On Purpose
There’s no ambition here to be the biggest tour company in Ireland. Brendan and Kieran take on a limited number of trips a year, on purpose, so each one gets the unhurried pace and the local knowledge a high-volume operator can’t easily give.
