How does a private tour actually work?
Every one of our tours is private, which means it's just your party travelling with your own driver-guide, never a shared group. You tell us what you'd like to see and how long you have, and we build the itinerary around that. The sample itineraries on our site are starting points, not fixed packages: they can be shortened, extended, or reshaped to suit you. On the day, the pace is yours; you decide where to linger and what to skip, and your driver adjusts as you go. There's no online booking calendar and nothing is confirmed automatically, so from your first message you're planning directly with the people running the tours rather than a call centre. It's a simple, flexible way to travel that fits the trip to you, rather than fitting you into a set template.
Who are your tours best suited to?
Our tours suit travellers who'd rather see Ireland at their own pace than on a fixed group schedule. That includes couples, families, and small groups, as well as solo travellers, and many of our guests are visiting from overseas, often with Irish heritage they'd like to explore. Because the tours are private and fully bespoke, they work equally well for someone who wants a packed, see-everything itinerary and for someone who'd prefer a slower trip with time to enjoy each place. If you have particular interests, whether history, scenery, gardens, local food, or simply a relaxed pace, we build the itinerary around them. The one thing our guests have in common is that they'd rather travel as their own group, with a guide who adapts to them, than share a coach with strangers on a set timetable.
How many people can you take?
It depends on your group size, and we run a small fleet to cover the range. For couples and smaller parties, there's a premium chauffeur car; for slightly larger groups, a comfortable Mercedes V-Class people-carrier. For bigger groups, we have a Mercedes Sprinter that's been reconfigured with facing tables in place of a row of seats, seating up to 13 in comfort, with room for luggage. Because we keep the fleet deliberately small, every trip is driven by one of the owners rather than a changing roster of drivers, which is central to how we work and to the consistency guests tell us they value. If you let us know your group size when you enquire, we'll confirm the right vehicle for your trip. Larger parties are welcome; we'll simply talk through the options to make sure everyone travels comfortably.
Do you arrange accommodation?
No. We focus on what we do best, which is the driving and guiding. We don't book hotels or handle accommodation, and our tours are built around collecting you from and returning you to your own chosen accommodation each day. Many guests find this works well, because it leaves them free to stay exactly where they prefer, at whatever level of comfort suits them, rather than being tied to a fixed package. If it's helpful, we're always happy to share general guidance on areas to base yourself for a given itinerary, drawn from years of driving these routes, but the booking itself stays in your hands. This keeps things simple and transparent: you choose where you stay, and we make sure you get there and onward each day as part of your tour.

Getting in touch is straightforward. There's an enquiry form on our contact page: send us a message with a rough idea of when you'd like to travel, how long you have, your group size, and anything you're particularly keen to see. Brendan or Kieran will reply to start shaping an itinerary. There's no obligation at the enquiry stage and nothing is booked automatically; it's simply the start of a conversation about your trip. The more you can tell us up front about what you're hoping for, the more tailored a first draft we can put together, but even a short message is enough to get started. If you already have a rough sense of which sample itinerary you’re starting from, mentioning it helps too, though it’s just as fine to start with nothing more than a set of dates. And if you're not sure what's realistic in the time you have, just ask; we're glad to suggest options that fit.
